El Michoacano Fruteria Y Neveria #2 brought Mexican ice cream, fruit drinks, paletas, and street snacks to 6010 Hampton Avenue in Princeton Heights in 2025. The family-operated shop is the second location for a business that began in Fairmont City, Illinois.
A Family Business With Roots in Michoacán
Griselda and Ismael Espinosa began selling homemade Mexican drinks, frozen treats, and paletas at community events before opening their original brick-and-mortar shop. Their recipes and menu ideas reflect family connections to Michoacán, a state in western Mexico known for its fruit and food traditions.
The Hampton Avenue location expanded the family business into South St. Louis with help from the couple’s daughter and daughter-in-law.
Mexican Ice Cream, Fruit Treats, and Street Snacks
The opening menu featured homemade ice cream, real-fruit paletas, strawberries and cream, fruit cocktails, yogurt blends, aguas frescas, elotes, and mangonadas. It also combined traditional snacks with ingredients such as Hot Cheetos and Doritos.
St. Louis Magazine’s opening profile reported daily hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in 2025. Hours, payment options, and menu items can change, so visitors should confirm current information through the business’s official Facebook page before making a special trip.
A New Addition to Princeton Heights
