Walk Away Waffles Kirkwood has officially changed hands. Michael and Meredith Shadwick, the couple behind Honey Bee’s Biscuits + Good Eats, are now leading operations of the popular Belgian waffle truck at the Kirkwood Farmers Market. The truck has long been a weekend favorite for market visitors, offering freshly made sweet and savory waffles.

The purchase expands the Shadwicks’ restaurant group, Hive Mind Hospitality, which also includes Spencer’s Grill and Tropical Moose Shaved Ice. The previous owners, Jack and Pat Williams, who also founded Tropical Moose, have officially passed the torch to the new owners.

What’s Staying the Same and What to Expect Next

According to reporting from St. Louis Magazine, the new owners intend to preserve what has made Walk Away Waffles a community favorite. The initial menu will be slightly reduced, but most of the original offerings will remain intact. Small changes such as using ground sausage instead of patties may be introduced.

In the coming weeks, the Shadwicks plan to expand the menu to include:

  • Waffle sandwiches
  • Waffle smash burgers
  • Honey Bee’s signature sausage gravy

A Fresh Chapter for a Kirkwood Staple

Walk Away Waffles Kirkwood continues to build on its strong reputation under new leadership. With their growing hospitality group and a track record of success, the Shadwicks are set to bring fresh energy while honoring the legacy of this well-loved food truck.
