Hulk Hogan death was confirmed by WWE on 7/24/205, marking the loss of one of professional wrestling’s most recognizable figures. Hogan, born Terry Bollea, died at the age of 71 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Known around the world as the face of “Hulkamania,” Hogan played a defining role in making wrestling a global sensation in the 1980s and ’90s. His iconic red-and-yellow ring attire, signature handlebar mustache, and energetic personality helped elevate WWE to new heights. Over the course of his legendary career, he captured six WWE Championships and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice—first in 2005 and again in 2020.

Hogan retired from in-ring competition in 2012, but his impact on the sport and pop culture remains unparalleled.

A Complex Legacy

While celebrated for his wrestling achievements, Hogan’s career was also marked by controversy. In 2015, WWE suspended him from the Hall of Fame after the release of a recording in which he used racially offensive language. He later issued a public apology and was reinstated in 2018.

In 2016, Hogan won a high-profile lawsuit against Gawker Media after the outlet published a sex tape involving him. The court awarded Hogan $140 million in damages, leading to Gawker’s eventual bankruptcy.
