
The Gateway Cup St. Louis will once again transform city streets into a showcase of speed and endurance this Labor Day weekend. The four-day cycling festival features professional and amateur criterium races across four distinct neighborhoods, blending high-paced competition with local community celebrations.
2025 Gateway Cup Schedule & Neighborhoods
- Friday, August 29 – Tour de Lafayette
Nighttime racing kicks off the weekend in historic Lafayette Square. Riders will navigate a flat, 0.9-mile course surrounded by neighborhood shops, restaurants, and enthusiastic spectators. - Saturday, August 30 – Tour de Francis Park
St. Louis Hills hosts fast, wide-circuit racing around scenic Francis Park, with the added tradition of grabbing a Ted Drewes frozen custard after the finish. - Sunday, August 31 – Giro Della Montagna
The Hill comes alive with Italian heritage and festive spirit as cyclists compete in one of the city’s most beloved races, known for its food, culture, and passionate crowds. - Monday, September 1 – Tour de Florissant
The series concludes in Old Town Florissant on a technical 1.1-mile course. With historic architecture as the backdrop, the final race is also a community celebration.
Race Format & Participant Categories
All events follow the criterium format, with riders completing multiple laps on short, closed courses for maximum intensity and spectator appeal. Categories include:
- Professional races featuring elite cyclists
- Amateur categories for local and regional competitors
- Junior races (free entry)
- Children’s races ($15 entry)
