Nettie’s Pizza St. Louis is the newest concept from celebrated chef Mike Randolph, opening this August in the heart of Clayton. Located at 33 N. Central Avenue in the former home of Planet Smoothie and LemonShark Poke, the 45-seat pizzeria brings together nostalgia, structure, and warmth — all in a slice.
Named after Randolph’s great aunt, Nettie’s will serve hybrid-style pizzas designed to hold up well for both dine-in and delivery. “I want to serve a pizza that still looks and tastes great after 30 or 40 minutes,” Randolph explains. “That’s just not something Neapolitan-style pizza can do.”
The fast-casual setup is engineered for efficiency and comfort. Guests will pass a glassed-in salad station, place their orders at the counter, and grab a drink along with a light Italian salad (featuring arugula, lemon, and parmesan). Hot food is delivered to the table, and staff handle all bussing — a system inspired by local favorite Grassi’s and Randolph’s own The Good Pie.
The menu is tight and craveable: 18 items total, with 10 pizzas, a handful of appetizers, and nostalgic desserts like pizza frites. Pricing is designed to stay accessible, with pizzas ranging from $15 to $20.
The interior will reflect a blend of vintage charm and modern updates, echoing elements from Randolph’s former restaurant, Randolfi’s. Think blue-checked tablecloths, shakers of red pepper flakes and parmesan, and an open kitchen where Randolph will lead the team.
Randolph’s culinary résumé includes acclaimed St. Louis concepts such as Half & Half, MEDIAnoche, Privado, Público, and the James Beard–recognized Little Country Gentleman. With Nettie’s Pizza St. Louis, he returns to approachable comfort food — built for community, convenience, and the kind of memories made at the dinner table.
